Dear devotees,Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. We would like to share three exciting updates. First Update: In addition to the amazing lineup of kirtaniyas, over 11 sannyasis, over 70 disciples of Srila Prabhupada, we just received confirmation of the attendance of His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Maharaja! This is so befitting for the event this year as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and Maharaja is the only remaining member of the original 11-member GBC team who is still serving in that capacity and having received his sannyasa in 1970 at the youthful age of 21, he’s also the longest-standing sannyasi of ISKCON with unwavering dedication to the mission. As Jayapataka Maharaja’s attendance just got confirmed, we have extended the registration deadline to May 15 to allow for disciples and well-wishers of Maharaja who may not want to miss this golden opportunity to have his rare association. Please note that, due to hotel security requirements and other logistics, everyone that wants to attend the retreat needs to be registered ahead of time with either a full pass for the whole event or at least a day pass for those who aren’t able to attend the whole retreat. There are no walk-ins. To register, please visit https://sadhusangaretreat.com. Second Update: ![]() Has anyone not seen this famous picture of Srila Prabhupada cooking ? It’s there in almost every ISKCON kitchen throughout the world. Do you know where this iconic photo was taken ? It was in New Talavan, the farm community that Srila Prabhupada established in 1974. Although it’s in the neighboring state of Mississippi, it’s only an hour drive from the Sadhu Sanga venue. A handful of devotees there have worked so hard for the last several years and have built a beautiful brand new Temple from scratch. Every one is welcome to join this grand opening kirtan: ![]() Third Update: The prasadam that’s included as part of your Sadhu Sanga registration starts from dinner on Friday, May 22 and ends with to-go lunch on Monday, May 25. Please note that Tuesday is Ekadasi in New Orleans. There are many of you who are arriving early or leaving late for volunteering or for saving flight costs or for sight-seeing. So we are arranging prasadam for those extra days as well. For all those who volunteer in any pre-festival or post-festival services for at least two hours per meal, we’re happy to provide the prasadam for free. If you are unable to volunteer due to schedule or other constraints, we’d still like to provide prasadam for you at a nominal cost of $10 per person as we have to pay for the devotee caterers who are providing those meals. If you are interested in this service, please fill up this form by Friday, May 15 so that we can finalize all counts and give it to the caterers. We will be sending out the detailed instructions for hotel and retreat check-in, services, t-shirts, sponsorship opportunities, etc. throughout this week. Please add info@sadhusangaretreat.com to your email contacts so you don’t miss any of our emails! “Not attainable by the faithful performers of pious deeds, not understood by those engaged in austerity, meditation, and yoga, not guessed by those absorbed in detachment, renunciation or prayers, and unknown even to the devotees full of love for Lord Govinda, the secret of pure devotional service has been revealed by the holy name during Lord Gaura’s advent.
