Become Hare Krishna-ized Now !

unnamed

Who is a qualifying candidate?

Everyone!

There are no discriminations of caste, creed, race, nationality, gender, education, wealth, health , age etc.. etc….

This is Lord Krishna’s very own equal opportunity program and predates all other equal opportunity programs, as this offer has been in existence at the very least since He spoke again the Bhagavad-Gita As It Is 5000 years ago on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, North-West of New Dehli, India.

“What do I have to do?”

First of all we have to chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra individually or in congregation:

HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA

KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE

HARE RAMA HARE RAMA

RAMA RAMA HARE HARE

How much chanting?

As much as u like, with a view to come to the authorized standard established by the Founder-Acarya of the international Hare Krishna movement, His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, that is a minimum of 1728 mantras daily. You will roughly require two hours every day. For this purpose we use chanting beads with 108 beads. Mathematics tell us that 16 times 108 equals 1728. In circumstances where it is not possible to use beads, one may use some kind of other tally keeping implement.

“Is that all?”

No! Just like in the Astanga yoga system, in the Bhakti yoga system there are the dos and the don’ts as well, (yama & niyama).

Just as it is silly to pour water when lighting a fire, in order to get the full benefit from the chanting one should strictly avoid the following four items, also called “the four regulative principles”:

1) No gambling and frivolous sports

2) No illicit sex

3) No meat, fish and eggs

4) No intoxication, including coffee, tea and cigarettes.

“Anything else?”

Well, let me first of all congratulate you :). If you manage the above on a regular basis, your existential situation is very good and you are situated on the right path of life, on the way to solve all your problems, including the problem of imprisonment in this material world.

One may then, or at any other time for that matter, visit any ISKCON (Hare Krishna) temple in the world, associate with devotees and discuss the technology of devotional service further. World wide, all temples of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness commence operations every day, 365 days a year, at 4.30 AM and consequently open for public access slightly before that time. Please feel free to join in the transcendental chanting, dancing and feasting any and every time of the day. There are over one hundred (100) ISKCON temples around the world. There may therefore be a temple near you. Please find directory here: http://directory.krishna.com/temples?page=1. Additonally there are also numerous Hare Krishna restaurants around the world that serve delicious, sanctified and karma free food also called “prasadam”. Who will not agree to join in the fun?

In a class in Los Angeles, on the 13th of February 1969, Srila Prabhupada clearly stated that Krishna consciousness is a transcendental system of redemptive recreation only. Here is the passage:

“Devotee: What is recreation for a Krishna conscious person?
Prabhupada: Recreation? Dancing. [laughter] Come on, dance with us. Is it not recreation? And when you get tired take prasadam. Do you want more recreation than this? What is your answer. Is it not recreation?
Devotee: Yes. I think it is difficult for someone who comes from…
Prabhupada: Why difficult? Dancing is difficult? Chant and dance?
Devotee: It’s easier for a devotee who lives in the temple.
Prabhupada: Oh, but as you come, anyone can come. Everyone is welcome. We don’t charge anything for this dancing. You go to ball dance and so many other dances, you pay for it. But we don’t charge. We simply, our, these students simply beg something because we have to maintain. We don’t charge anything. So if you simply come and chant for recreation, it is very nice. Everything is there in Krishna consciousness. We want music, there is music. We want dancing, there is dancing. You can bring nice musical instruments, you can join. We distribute nice palatable dishes. So practically this is a system of recreation only. [laughter] Yes. If you seriously think, you’ll find, this system, there is no labor at all. Simply recreation. Su-sukham [Bg. 9.2]. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita in the Ninth Chapter you’ll find, su-sukham . Everything is pleasing and happy. Find out anything in our system, that this is troublesome. Tell me practically, anyone. “This point is very troublesome.” Just put your counterargument. Simply pleasing. It is simply recreation. That’s all. You just point out, “Swamiji, this point is not very recreation or not, that is unhappy position.” Nothing.”

Further more Bhagavad Gita As It Is 9.2 reads:

“This knowledge is the king of education, the most secret of all secrets. It is the purest knowledge, and because it gives direct perception of the self by realization, it is the perfection of religion. It is everlasting, and it is joyfully performed.”

We are also happy to answer any and all questions that you may have. Thank you very much!

Please chant Hare Krishna!
